SOCIO-ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED GROUPS (SEDG) CELL

The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell of College of Physical Education, Beed has been constituted in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to promote equity, inclusiveness, and equal educational opportunities for students belonging to socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Cell is committed to creating a supportive academic environment by ensuring that every student has access to institutional resources, welfare schemes, and opportunities for holistic development, irrespective of their socio-economic circumstances. Working under the guidance of the Principal, the Cell comprises faculty members, administrative staff, and student representatives who collectively strive to address the academic and personal needs of students.

The primary objectives of the SEDG Cell include

Facilitating access to scholarships, government welfare schemes, and financial assistance.

Providing academic guidance, mentoring, and remedial support to students requiring additional assistance.

Organising counselling sessions to promote emotional well-being and confidence.

Conducting skill enhancement programmes, career guidance workshops, and employability initiatives.

Creating awareness about students’ rights, institutional support systems, and available development opportunities.

Addressing grievances related to socio-economic challenges through a fair and confidential redressal mechanism.

Promoting an inclusive campus culture that values equality, diversity, and mutual respect.
